In the first half of this year, rail container transportation of TransContainer decreased by 3.5% year-on-year to 692.1 thousand TEU compared to 717 thousand TEU for the first six months of 2014.
The drop in TransContainer’s rail container transportation volumes was mainly due to a 12.4% decline in international transportation, following a decrease in export of empty containers and import of loaded units.
TrabsContainer’s revenue-generating container transportation volumes in Russia decreased by 7.2% year-on-year to 517 thousand TEU. The company increased its share in the market of rail container transportation services to 47.8% from 45.6% in the second quarter of 2014.
