Southeastern is boosting its timetable again from Sunday 15 December, introducing an additional 44 services each weekday, a total of 220 per week.
The improvements include the introduction of 12 more of the hugely popular and convenient Cannon Street Rounder services each week day along the Woolwich and Sidcup lines.
As well as increasing capacity for stations along the routes, they improve access to the Elizabeth Line at Abbey Wood and link the Sidcup route to New Cross and Cannon Street.
There will also be extra trains from Victoria to Orpington via Herne Hill at peak times and two more evening services from Charing Cross to Maidstone East will be extended to Ashford International.
The December timetable change is a further increase in service levels for customers across south-east London, Kent and parts of East Sussex.
Details of the extra services from December are available in online journey planners and the full timetables have been published on the Southeastern website.
Customers are also being advised to check their regular train times as there has been several smaller adjustments to provide earlier services into London or to give school pupils more time to get on and off certain trains during term time.
“As part of our commitment to building a better, more reliable and sustainable railway we continually monitor passenger demand and listen to stakeholder feedback. With this timetable change in December we are providing more services and opportunities to travel by train. Demand has been increasing steadily over the last few years and we are responding by adding 44 more services every weekday, including the introduction of additional Cannon Street ‘Rounder’ services for our Metro customers. In total, we will be providing 220 additional services every week, making it easier to travel for work, to see family and friends, or for education and healthcare appointments. Customers can check their trains times now as they are in online journey planners and full details are also available in our app and on our website,” said Scott Brightwell, Southeastern’s Operations and Safety Director.
