The new Vitosha station on line 2 of the Sofia metro will be opened on 31 July. This was announced by the mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, who inspected the progress of construction of the new station. At present, 75% of the construction works have been completed.
The station is an extension of the second line of the metro. The length of the new section is 1.3 kilometres. With the opening of the new station, more than 20,000 people daily are expected to use the metro. The project costs EUR 21.7 million.
