Due to the tariff autonomy granted by the state, SNCB is considering increasing the tariffs for the trains travelling at peak hours. The new tariff chart elaborated by SNCB’s CEO and the transport minister, Madame Jacqueline Galant, could be applied as of 2016. The measure could refer to almost 135 million passengers.
Tariffs would be increased between 6 and 9 am and 3 and 7 pm. The new tariff chart could also be much simpler than the current one which includes too many types of tariffs.
