Slovenian Infrastructure Minister Peter Gašperšič announced that the power lines of the Notranjsko railway infrastructure will be restored, The Slovenia Times reports. One track will reopen for electric trains this month and the second one in August.
Railway transport is one of the biggest issue of this region, that suffered a major setback when passenger trains were discontinued after last year’s ice storm due to the destruction of power lines. Diesel trains have been plying the route since, but only to pull cargo wagons.
