The rail shuttle Rotterdam-Bad Bentheim, which started providing services in September 2014, was recently expanded from three times per week to a daily service. The train accommodates 90 TEU back and forth between Rotterdam, Bad Bentheim and Coevorden.
The shuttle is a service of EuroTerminal Emmen-Coevorden-Hardenberg BV (ETECH) Combi Terminal Twente BV, (CTT) and the Bentheimer Eisenbahn and is supported by the Port of Rotterdam Authority. The train runs between the terminals of CTT in Rotterdam, the APM and ECT terminals on the Maasvlakte and Bad Bentheim. From Bad Bentheim, the shuttle continues to the EuroTerminal Coevorden. Three times a week, the shuttle provides a connection to the rail service to Malmö.
“There is already a lot of interest in the shuttle service,” says Joachim Berends, CEO of the Bentheimer Eisenbahn.
