RZD International has finished the reconstruction of Serbia’s Bujanovac-Bukarevac railway section, one month ahead of schedule according to the contract. This is the first of the three sections of the Trans-European transport Corridor X, on Serbian territory.
The reconstruction of this 14 km long section was completed 30 days before the due date under the contract.
The project of the 14 km long section reconstruction included the complete rehabilitation of the embankment and permanent way, 5 turnouts, reconstruction of 13 road crossings and 2 railway stations, as well as low platforms, drainage system, catenary system, signaling and telecommunication systems. As a result, the maximum limit for train speed has increased up to 120 km/h.
RZD International continues reconstruction of Vinarci-Dzordzevo rail section, while the works on Vranjska Banja-Ristovac section are to be finished in the nearest future. The cost of the project for reconstruction of three sections on the south of the Corridor X exceeds USD 38 million and is financed from the Russian state export credit.
