Amendments to the contract for the Lastochka train supply are discussed neither with the Ministry of Economic Development nor with RZD. Cooperation with RZD is in line with the signed contract, under which the trains will be delivered next year, the parties said.
According to “Vedomosti”, the Ministry of Economic Development suggested that RZD terminated the contract for the Lastochka acquisition, because the Government believed that maintenance would cost more than initially estimated. RZD, in its turn, suggested reducing maintenance costs of these trains, increasing run between maintenances and speeding up Lastochka localization.
