RZD and the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation have signed an agreement on joint efforts to establish a Freight Market Council for efficient cooperation of all the players. The document has been signed by RZD’s President Oleg Belozerov and Head of FAS Igor Artemiev.
The establishment of this Council will make the railway market more transparent for customers and help elaborate well-balanced solutions in the interests of all the stakeholders.
“We consider establishment of such a council to be a significant step. It will be a ground where all market players can discuss mid-term and long-term prospects without violation of the competition legislation and with more precise framing of requirements and possibilities”, said Oleg Belozerov.
“The council will feature dozens of organizations including shippers, operators, manufacturers of equipment, authorities etc.”, said Igor Artemiev.
