RZD and Eesti Raudtee have concluded an additional agreement on electronic data exchange on international rail freight. The agreement was signed in Tallinn on 27 October 2016 at the 65th meeting of the Council for Rail Transport of Members of the Commonwealth of Independent States – Participants of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The additional agreement takes into account the specifics of the new provisions in the regulatory framework for handling freight transport. It will provide for the exchange not only of the data from transport documents, but also from the supporting documents, such as the invoice, packing list and combined dispatch note and invoice). As a result, the customs authorities will receive sufficient preliminary information so that they can process further transit declarations.
The document is a supplement to the Agreement on Electronic Data Exchange on International Rail Freight Transportation which was signed on 15 September 2006.
