Russian Railways has launched pilot operation of the portal for preliminary notification about goods imported into the Customs Union by rail. According to the Southern Customs Authority, the data from the portal will be forwarded to the information system of the Federal Customs Service of Russia.

According to the decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission’s Board No. 196 dated September 17, 2013, preliminary informing on the goods imported on single customs area of the Customs Union by rail becomes obligatory from October 1, 2014.
