Azerbaijan has received 2,255 new wagons for freight transport from Russia since early 2015, spokesperson of Azerbaijan Railways Nadir Azmammadov told Trend.
301 of them are covered wagons, 200 – platforms for transporting large-capacity containers, 1,000 – gondolas, 450 – tank cars, 204 – grain tankers, 100 – hopper cars.
Earlier in March, Aerbaijan Railways Javid Gurbanov met with Oleg Sienko, chief executive officer of Russia’s Research and Production Corporation Uralvagonzavod.
During the meeting, the sides signed a contract for delivering 2,900 truck cars of various types from Russia to Azerbaijan Railways.
The first cars on request of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC were delivered to Azerbaijan on Apr.25, 2015.
