The ERTMS Level 2 Pilot Project Buftea-Peris-Crivina on Romanian railway paneuropean Corridor IV will enter in commercial operation in September 2015, the Thales representatives said, during a technical visit organised within UNIFE General Assembly in Bucharest, Romania.
”The whole infrastructure is installed and tested and CFR SA, the Romanian infrastructure manager, is in commissioning phase for all subsystems of the project. The project is planned to be finalized within 2015.”
The project includes 3 stations, 30 km double track designed for 160 km/h. The rail signalling track side includes 1 RBC, 3 new electronic interlocking in Buftea, Peris and Crivina rail stations, 3 automatic line blocks between electronic interlocking, 1 to CR2 relay interlocking. the rail signalling onboard included 6 on board units (OBU) on 1 locomotive type.
For this project, CFR SA signed the contract with Thales-Siemens-Nokia Consortium in November 2011. The total value of the project was RON 271.3 million (EUR 60.3 million) of which EU contribuition was RON 186 million (EUR 41.3 million) and state contribuition, RON 85.3 million (almost EUR 19 million).
