RZD Logistics has launched a regular container train from Chengdu (China) to Vorsino (the Kaluga region). The train with import goods from China departed on September 19th to meet the train with export from Russia.
The train, which consists of forty one 40-foot containers with equipment and glassware, will go to Freight Village Vorsino terminal in the Kaluga region. At the border point Zamyn-Uud (Mongolia) it is expected to meet the export train from Vorsino, which departed on September 13th. The containers will be removed from one train to another without any delay in order to maximally reduce the delivery time taking into the account the rail gage difference between the Chinese and Mongolian railroads. Thus, the empty rolling stock will not be sent and only loaded train cars will be sent in both directions. Arrival of the train to Vorsino is scheduled for October 2, 2017, whereas the train to Chengdu will arrive on September 26th.
This first import shipment marks the start of the regular export-import circular route Vorsino-Chengdu-Vorsino with the shipment timetable – once in two weeks. The route has been launched in the framework of the Russian Export Center’s project on the support of the non-resource export from Russia to China.
Further RZD Logistics plans the focused development of the service and expansion of shipments’ geography in order to provide the maximum number of Russian exporters with high-quality logistics.
