”Railway safety is one of the most important concepts which needs to be invested in. In an organisation, it is about the way safety is perceived, valued, prioritised and integrated in the activities. It reflects the real commitment to safety at all levels”, Dragoș Floroiu, General Manager of the Romanian Railway Authority (AFER), emphasised during the Railway Pro Technology and Services Forum, organized by Club Feroviar and Railway PRO together with the Romanian Railway Industry Association (AIF), in Arad on 5-6 April.
There are 4 good reasons we need to consider safety culture, and these are incidents nearmiss, taking into account the consequences of incidents, best practices and risks and compliance control.
”It has been observed by experts that developing strong safety culture have the single greatest impact on accident reduction of any process and deliver a sustainable performance”, Floroiu added.
”Anytime we have to invest, the way we decide to invest is the one that matters, so that we reach those parameters in order to better perform towards a safer factor”, Dragoș Floroiu explained.
