From this year, the Rail Cargo Group offers a return service from Rijeka to Ludwigshafen via Munich for their customer DP World. This is a completely new rail service and the first direct connection between Croatia and Germany.
Transport on the new route between Rijeka Adriatic Gate and Ludwigshafen KTL started in February with three round trips per week. This is part of the container transport between European economic centres that Rail Cargo Operator handles for its customer DP World. The train consist comprises fourteen 90-foot container wagons and four 80-foot container wagons.
With this move, Rail Cargo Operator is cementing its position as a major player in the international logistics industry and significantly furthering its aim of increasing the prominence of rail as a mode of transport.
