The Dutch state could bring railway infrastructure manager ProRail under direct state control. The government is sad to have agreed to adopt a proposal from Sharon Dijksma, the secretary of state for infrastructure, with regard to the business. ProRail currently operates as a legal entity wholly-owned by the Netherlands’ Ministry of Infrastructure.
The secretary of state for infrastructure is due to discuss the matter with the Parliamentary Commission for Transport and Infrastructure in late October.
ProRail commented that it had not been informed of any such proposals by the Ministry.
