Japan Government and Higashi-Osaka City announced that there are plans to extend Osaka Monorail system. The new 9 km line will have 4 stations at Kadoma-minami (metro Nagahori-Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line), Konoikeshinden (JR Tozai Line / Gakkentoshi Line), Aramoto (Kintetsu Keihanna Line), and Uryudo (with a new transfer station on the Kintetsu Nara Line).
The line will cost JPY 105 billion (USD 846.85 million) and is expected to begin construction in 2018.
