Austria’s Federal Railways ÖBB rebranded Go-Ahead Germany as Arverio Deutschland following the completion of the acquisition of German subsidiary of British Go-Ahead Group.
With the new branding, the company will now operate under the name Arverio Deutschland GmbH with its subsidiaries in Baden-Württemberg (Arverio Baden-Württemberg GmbH) and Bavaria (Arverio Bayern GmbH).
“We are pleased with the development and are happy to work on making the new name known. We are happy to have ÖBB as a strong partner at our side,” Fabian Amini, CEO Arverio said.
In addition to the new name, the logo is also being redesigned. With the partner ÖBB, the aim is to offer more than just comfortable and sustainable local transport with a strong service, Arverio wants to be the best choice for passengers, employees and clients, ÖBB says.
The comprehensive rebranding will start immediately in all areas of the company and is expected to be fully completed by the beginning of 2025. The trains will retain their original design as well as the regional colors blue in Bavaria and yellow in Baden Württemberg, even if the logo is changed.
Arverio will be a market-oriented and independent railway transport company in southern Germany. The operator will continue the five ongoing rail contracts for regional services in southern Germany of which two are awarded by Bavarian Railway Company (Bayerische Eisenbahngesellschaft – BEG) and three by the Ministry of Transport of Baden-Württemberg.
There will be no changes in the daily implementation of operational traffic. Arverio offers ÖBB the ideal opportunity for market entry and possible growth in southern Germany.
“I am pleased that we have now mastered the next milestone in our collaboration. The new brand identity, especially the new company name Arverio, is a visible sign of our partnership – both externally and internally,” Sabine Stock, Board Member of ÖBB-Personenverkehr AG said.
On February 1st 2024, Go-Ahead completed the sale of its German rail business to ÖBB which represented a full exit for Go-Ahead from the German rail market.
