Norway’s state owned company, NSB, awarded Stadler a maintenance contract for more than 100 class 74 and 75 Flirt EMUs from Mantena, its subsidiary. In total, five companies were competing for the train maintenance contract which will run until 2024, with an option for an extension of up to four years.
“The original contract with Mantena has expired, so it was natural to announce a new competition. Mantena participated, but Stadler Norge had the best offer,” Tormod Gjermundsen, NSB Director of Traffic and Technology said. Mantena will continue to maintain the bogies.
The agreement covers the entire Flirt fleet and means full-service maintenance of trains as service, including parts, repairs and additional services.
NSB runs Flirt trains on intercity, suburban and regional routes in NSB East, as well as on Gjøvik Line and between Voss and Bergen.
