Multiple Valencia commuter lines restored after historic floods

Renfe announces that Lines C5 and C6 of the Valencia commuter trains, the Euromed Barcelona-Valencia and the MD Valencia-Castelló-Vinaròs and Valencia-Teruel-Zaragoza have been restored, after historic floods hit the regions.

Since this Saturday, the Medium Distance services between Valencia-Castelló-Vinaròs and Valencia-Teruel-Zaragoza have been reestablished to facilitate essential travel.

This reestablishment is in addition to the start of circulations that have also been carried out in the Valencia commuter train hub, on lines C5 and C6, which have begun to operate on a limited basis for urgent journeys.

The C6 Valencia-Castelló line currently has 17 trains in each direction per day, and the C5 Valencia-Caudiel line has three trains in each direction per day during the weekend.

Regarding the rest of the lines (C1 Valencia-Gandia, C2 Valencia-Moixent and C3 Valencia-Utiel), they are currently inoperative and there are no plans to restore them.

For its part, all Euromed/Intercity Valencia-Barcelona-Valencia services have been put into operation this Sunday, except for the following routes:

  • Intercity 11403 Departure 19:37
  • Valencia Nord – Barcelona S. 23:25

Regarding the Freight service, circulation has been reestablished exclusively for freight trains, empty materials and infrastructure trains from November 1, at 2:25 p.m. between Valencia – Sagunto – Teruel and at 2:40 p.m. between Valencia and Tarragona with Temporary Speed Limits at risk points.

As communicated by the State Security Forces and Civil Protection, travel must be restricted to a minimum, especially by road.

The damage to railway infrastructure caused by flooding in the Valencian Community caused by the DANA storm means that the high-speed service between Valencia and Madrid will be suspended for at least two to three weeks, a duration that may vary depending on the progress of the repair work.
