The overhaul of the railway station bulding in Sumgayit begins next month. The statement was released by Azerbaijan Railways. According to the information, after the reconstruction of the Baku – Sumgait railway, the overhaul of the station is scheduled to begin. New sketch of the Sumgait railway station is ready.
The repairment works on the 63 km railway passenger section of the Baku – Khirdalan – Sumgayit started since March 3. Also the construction of a connecting road extending 1.65 km for the movement in the direction of Sumgayit station without entering the main station Sumgait is envisaged.
The capital repairs is carried out by Dəmiryolservis and Azerbaijan Railways with the participation of the Department of Infrastructure. After completion of repairment works on the passenger station it will be possible to reach Sumagyit from Baku railway station for 40 minutes via train.
