Metrovagonmash, a member of Russian rolling stock producer Transmashholding, and Moscow Metro signed a contract for the delivery of 144 type ”Moscow” metro cars. The total cost of the additional contract amounts to RUB 10.5 billion (USD 187 million). According to the contract terms of delivery have to be completed before the end of 2018.
The ”Moscow” type metro cars are the latest developped by Transmashholding (Metrovagonmash) and they will enter service on the Purple Line of Moscow Metro in the near future. Each trainset will consist of 8 railcars.
Moscow Metro announced that during 2017 until 2020 they will place 912 type ”Moscow” railcars into commercial service.
