Work progress with Bucharest’s metro Line 4 project is 75%. The construction permit for Straulesti Multimodal Terminal has been released and development works are underway, declared Romanian Minister of Transport, Sorin Buse. At the end of 2016, Laminorului and Straulești stations will be operational and both the depot and the multimodal terminal will be put into service in the first half of 2017.
Thus, the existing metro network on the 5.6-km long Gara de Nord – Parc Bazilescu section will be completed by another 2.1 km of double track.
Progress with the Line 5 project is 85% for the structure and 10% for the finishing of auxiliary installations, announced the transport minister. Execution of structure for Eroilor 2 station is 80% completed. The connection between Line 5 and Line 2 is underway and excavations for the pumping station are carried out. Also, all possible solutions are evaluated to reduce the period with automotive traffic deviation. The execution of structure at Favorit station is 97% completed.
