Metro de Quito had announced it will sign on July 15 the credit agreement with Spanish Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO) for the financing of metro train acquisition prjoject, auxiliary vehicles and equipments.
The agreement involves the USD 183 million contract with CAF that includes the delivery of 18 trains with 6 coaches. Each train is equipped with information systems, wifi, fire detection systems.
The tender was launched in 2014 with the participation of Zhuzhou CST Times Electronico Lts and BST consortium; and CAF Metro de Quito consortium that won the tender, after the technical certification made by the commission.
