Michel Bouvard and Michel Destot, the two French parliamentarians the Prime Minister entrusted with analysing the financing possibilities of Lyon-Turin high-speed line, said the vignette tax is one of the solutions to be considered. This type of financing is permitted by European directives and practices in some countries, such as Austria, for the Brenner tunnel project. The solution could include the increase of taxes by up to 25% for the heavy trucks running on certain motorways. The final report on the financing solutions will be drafted by the end of June 2015.
