Russian coal exporter Kuzbasskaya Toplivnaya Company has started hauling crude to Poland via Lithuania. Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai transported the company’s first shipment via the Lithuanian territory in early August. By the end of this year, up to 250,000 tons of coal should be transported via Lithuania by rail.
“A schedule for another two trains has been made. The perspective is to have a larger number, with coal traveling on regular basis and total at 250,000 tons of cargo by the end of the year,” LG spokeswoman Rima Terminaite said.
