The Czech private operator announced that it is in advanced discussions for launching the Wrocław – Pardubice – Prague route starting December 2019. The Pardubice region could finance the rail transport services, while the Lower Silesian Railways (Koleje Dolnośląskie) have shown interest in getting involved in the project.
According to local media, Leo Express could sign a contact with the Pardubice region to provide rail passenger services on two routes for a 10-year period. The Czech press also writes that the Pardubice region is interested in launching international services to the Polish city of Wrocław, the services being also provided by Leo Express.
The information on the negotiations was confirmed by Peter Jančovič, the director of the Polish subsidiary of Leo Express, as well as by Piotr Rachwalski, the director of the Lower Silesian Railways. The decision will ultimately belong to the Governor of the Pardubice Region (Czech Republic) and the Governor of Lower Silesia (Poland).
It should also be noted that Leo Express has already requested new rail routes to Prague, Berlin, Vienna and Wrocław.
