LDz Logistika, a subsidiary of Latvian railway company Latvijas Dzelzcels, has started negotiations with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Shenzhen on launching a container train Shenzhen-Riga-Shenzhen.
The representatives of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade confirmed China’s interest and proposed to include also other Chinese cities on the route that would allow to expand the cargo base and offer cargos that could be also transported from Latvia to Shenzhen, reducing transportation costs. The parties agreed to continue work on planning container cargos.
