Latvian railway company Latvijas Dzelzcels President Edvins Berzins and China Railway Corporation General Manager Sheng Guangzu have signed a protocol of intent on cooperation in the development of the China Railway Express from China to Europe.
The agreement stipulates development of train traffic between China and Europe, coordination of cooperation with freight shippers, suppliers, and joint marketing activities.
Under the agreement, the first test train would travel from China to Latvia by the end of this year. LDZ Cargo Logistika and China Railway Container Transport Corporation will be responsible for organizing the arrival of the first train from China to Latvia.
