Latvian rail company Latvijas Dzelzcels has announced new tenders for the upgrade of railway hubs in Riga and Daugavpils. The procurements were suspended in summer in order to amend documentation and now have been announced again.
By 2023 the company plans to implement three large scale project that will increase competitiveness of the railway network: the upgrade of the Riga railway hub on Sarkandaugava-Mangali-Ziemelblazma section, and two projects at southeastern Daugavpils train station. The total available financing from the Cohesion Fund is EUR 89 million.
