The total amount of freight transported by rail in Latvia increased by 2.2% last year, reaching 57.04 million tons, the Ministry of Transport announced.
The amount of transit freight transported via Latvian ports increased 4.4% to 47.04 million tons.
The total amount of export freight transported by rail increased by 9.7% to 2.8 million tons, while import freight amount decreased by 3.5% to 4.06 million tons.
Domestic transport increased by 6.7% to 1.26 million tons.
