Latvian rail passenger transport operator Pasazieru Vilciens offers the possibility to use its mobile application to buy electronic tickets. The app is available for mobile phones running on Android and iOS. Pasengers will be able to buy single-ride one-way and return tickets, as well as luggage tickets. The price of the e-ticket is the same as at the ticket office, and they can be bought using VISA, VISA Electron, MasterCard and Maestro payment cards.
To be able to buy an e-ticket, users have to download an update for the Pasazieru Vilciens app at App Store or GooglePlay. So far, the Pasazieru Vilciens app has been downloaded to more than 66,000 mobile devices already.
Next year, Pasazieru Vilciens plans to start selling also time tickets online and to launch an alternative payment system via mobile operators.
