Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) announced that the construction of the 51km Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) line is on track. Its overall progress stands at 58.5%: the underground works have been 73.13% completed, while the elevated section is 49.2% completed. Phase 1 of the project will commence operations by December 2016 from Sungai Buloh to Semantan, while the entire line up to Kajang will be completed by July 2017, as per MRT Corp’s original plan.
