Subway cars for the Keçiören metro which will begin public service in January 2017 arrived in Ankara (Keçiören is a metropolitan district of Ankara Province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey). The train units are produced in China. The transformation of the trainsets was made at Macunköy underground storage area. 6 sets from the first stage of transformation was completed for the metro cars.
The Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ministry in Turkey announced that 12 years later than expected the Keçiören metro line will be put into service in January 2017.
The line is part of (M4) Ankara Metro-4 line (Tandoğan-Keçiören). With the Keçiören metro line the Ankara metro network reaches 64 kilometres long.
