Aktobe rail and structural steel plant in Kazakhstan has signed memorandums of cooperation with the national railway companies of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan for supplying finished products, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways) announced. The design capacity of Aktobe plant is 430,000 tons of metal products per year. Also the plant will produce 230 thousand tons of rolled steel – beams, angles, channel bars. It will cover the needs of Kazakhstan and neighbouring countries in the rail and structural steel products.
The Aktobe plant hosted a ‘round table’ on the development of railway engineering in Kazakhstan and the prospects for international cooperation. Furthermore, presentations of the plants manufacturing railway products – Tulpar Talgo, Elektrovozosborochny Plant and others were held as well.
