Istanbul inaugurated a new metro line, Levent-Rumeli Hisarustu, on April 19, 2015. The 3.3 km line, with 4 stations, connects the Rumeli Hisarüstü and Levent districts. The construction of the new metro line began 28 months ago.
“With each new subway line, we are taking a step towards our aim to give Istanbul the longest railway system in the world,” President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
Istanbul Municipality announced the intention to build new metro lines.
