Indian Railways’ Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) has granted Siemens a combined order worth Rs 3.19 billion (EUR 43.9 million).
An order worth Rs 980 million (EUR 13.4 million) is for the design, supply and installation of 48 alternating current (AC) traction systems for dual cab high horsepower diesel engine locomotives for the Indian Railways. The AC traction systems will be produced at the company’s Nashik factory.
Another order worth Rs 1.66 billion (EUR 22.8 million) is for the supply of propulsion sets for freight locomotives and a third order worth Rs 550 million (EUR 7.5 million) is for the supply of propulsion sets for passenger locomotives.
