Regional railway operator GySEV is upgrading its rolling stock with both new and used trains. GySEV will renovate 26 used InterCity carriages for HUF 15 million (EUR 48.7 thousand ) each, which it has just purchased from Austria’s state railway company. The renovated trains are expected to start operating before the end of this year. Additionally, ten Flirt multiple units have been ordered by GySEV, which could start operating as early as 2018. This year, GySEV expects to carry 7.5 million passengers.
