A new high-speed railway line is set to connect Guangzhou and Shanghai in just eight hours by the end of this year, according to Guangzhou Railway Group.
The official website of regional railway bureau announced that new rail routes connecting the Pearl River Delta to 15 other provinces would be launched on December 10th.
It means the trip from Guangzhou to Shanghai will be reduced from 16 hours to eight hours, while the journey from Guangzhou to Hangzhou, Zhejiang, would take about seven hours, according to a report by Southern Metropolis Daily. The report did not disclose the speed of the trains.
