More than BGN 60 million (EUR 30.6 million) will be transferred from the Ministry of Finance to BDZ following the decision of the government, after the state aid was approved by the EU, Minister of Transport Ivaylo Moskovski announced.
BGN 42 million (EUR 21.4 million) will be used to pay out an old state guarantee. The other BGN 20 million (EUR 10.2 million) will go into payments of obligation loans to 5 banks. The BGN 20 million will allow for the restructuring of the loan and its extension for several more years. By paying the debts, BDZ will be able to function successfully, the minister added. The transport system also has the commitment to restore this financial resource by the end of 2018.
