Catalunya Railways, FGC, and Spanish company Ardanuy signed a EUR 2.1 million contract to supervise infrastructure and rolling stock maintenance on Lima metro Line 1.
Within this contract, FGC – Ardanuy consortium will be responsible for infrastructure maintenance work, as well as ensuring a correct conservation of the rolling stock.
In addition, FGC will periodically provide Ospitran, the infrastructure manager, with a report that will cover the most important aspects of the supervision, including possible improvements.
Line 1 is 34.4 km long with 26 stations and is operated by 5 AnsaldoBreda trains and in 2019 will be put into commercial operation additional 20 Alstom Metropolis trains. For this contract, in July 2016 Alstom has signed a contract worth around EUR 200 million with Graña y Montero Ferrovias to supply 120 Metropolis cars (20 trainsets) for the line 1 of Lima Metro as well as 19 new cars to complete the existing trainsets already in service on the same line. The delivery of the 139 Metropolis cars is scheduled to be completed by 2019.
