The Queensland Government has given the Indian conglomerate Adani more time to finalise a deal for a 300-km rail line from the Galilee Basin to the Port of Abbot Point. Initially, Adani had “30 days to lock in the details of the investment and … 90 days to finalise the documents.” Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney has confirmed there was no agreement reached yet on the details of the deal after the initial 30 days had already passed, but he stated that the deadlines were flexible. “The timetables in the statement of intent were indicative and we will continue to negotiate in good faith,” Jeff Seeney said.
