According to an agreement on Rail Baltica signed recently, the European Union will allocate a total of 191 EUR million for the project. EUR 13 million of this sum will be used to build a tram route between the Tallinn Airport and the Ulemiste transportation terminal. The project was already started in 2016.
The Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA), the Rail Baltica joint venture and the Baltic ministries signed a financing agreement, the total volume of which is 225 million euros. 85% of the total (EUR 191 million) will be funded from the European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and the rest by the three Baltic countries themselves.
The total volume of the Estonian projects is EUR 13 million, of which EU support makes up 11 million euros.
