Estonian passenger railway operator Elron registered a 21% increase in number of trips in the first 5 month of 2015. The ticket revenue exceeding EUR 1 million in May.
“2,637,000 trips were made with our trains from January to May, as compared to the same period of the previous year, by 21% more,” said Elron’s sales and development manager Ronnie Kongo.
In May, a record 585,000 trips with Elron trains were made (16% more than in May 2014), ticket sales amounted to 1.061 million euros, it was 28% more than at the same time last year.
“The new timetable and current records of passenger numbers suggest that one of the aims set by Elron for this year – to serve 6.2 million passengers – will be met,” said Kongo.
