Estonia’s state-owned rail freight company EVR Cargo’s cargo transport volume amounted to 1.23 million tonnes in September 2014, an increase of 3.8% from September last year.
The first nine months’ total volume, 11.4 million tonnes, is by 3.7% less than at the same time last year.
The transport of liquid mineral fuels fell by 17% in September in a year to 356,000 tonnes. Transport of oil shale grew by 42% to 275,000 tonnes year-on-year, that of chemical goods by 30% to 123,000 tonnes and that of fertilisers 10% to 297,000 tonnes.
In nine months, the transport of liquid mineral fuels fell by 14% in a year to 4.55 million tonnes. Transport of fertilisers grew by 15% to 2.59 mln tonnes and oil shale fell by 5.7% to 1.86 million tonnes year-on-year.
