Egypt is interested in cooperating with Latvia, especially in experience exchange regarding transport infrastructure, said the Egyptian transport minister’s aide after his meeting with Latvian Transport Minister Uldis Augulis during a visit to Latvia between 21 and 25 March.
Transport Minister Uldis Augulis discussed possible cooperation areas, including in well-developed transit corridors. Augulis also called on Egyptian companies to use Latvia’s transit corridors with its infrastructure for cargo transportation and distribution of goods in the CIS countries and Scandinavia.
The Egyptian delegation also visited the state-owned Latvijas Dzelzcels railway company where experts from the Transport Ministry and Latvijas Dzelzcels presented Latvian transport and logistics infrastructure, railway projects and high-level security measures in the Latvian railway system in detail.
