EBRD seeks consultant for Cairo Metro Line 1 project

cairoThe European Bank for Reconstruction and Development intends to engage a consulting company to conduct the due diligence of the technical, economic, environmental and social aspects of the planned upgrade of Cairo Metro Line 1 works, including electromechanical, telecommunications, signalling, centralised control, track and civil works.
The expected outcome of the assignment is a due diligence on the basis of which the bank has sufficient information to decide on the proposed investment and to prepare a comprehensive due diligence of the proposed investment and procurement strategy, including review of any design gaps as needed; to review of maintenance requirements and asset management practices for Line 1; to prepare an economic and financial appraisal of the project according to a recognised international standard; and to identify and assess the potentially significant existing and future adverse environmental and social impacts associated with the Cairo Metro.
The selected consultant will provide the technical / economic due diligence, environmental and social analysis.
Interested companies or groups of firms are invited to submit expressions of interest. The assignment  is expected to start in Q4, 2016 and has an estimated overall duration of 3 months. Cost estimate for the assignment is EUR 225,000, exclusive of VAT.
The EBRD aims at providing finance of up to EUR 200 million to the Ministry of Transport represented by National Authority for Tunnels for the planned upgrade of Cairo Metro Line 1 project.
