Arcadis announced that it has been appointed to provide architectural, branding, design and construction consultancy services for the Gold Line metro line in the city of Doha in Qatar. The value of the project to Arcadis is almost EUR 20 million. For the Gold Line project Arcadis will work on behalf of the contractor, ALYSJ JV, a joint venture of Aktor, Larsen & Toubro, Yapı Merkezi, STFA Group and Al Jaber Engineering.
The appointment follows an earlier involvement on similar activities on the Red Line South metro line, also in Doha.
The Gold Line is one of four lines under development in the first phase of Doha’s 354km metro network and is by far the largest single construction package on the Doha Metro, crossing Doha from east to west. This EUR 3.2bn contract includes 32km of bored tunnel along with 13 new underground stations fitted out with high-end architectural finishes and state of the art MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing), as well as services buildings, tunnels and entrances, in addition to landscaping, traffic and utilities works.
