Deutsche Bahn (DB) is presenting innovations for stable and reliable rail operations and infrastructure at InnoTrans, the leading international trade fair for transport technology in Berlin. This will enable further growth on the climate-friendly rail network. DB wants to attract new customers with new offers and thus reinforces its corporate strategy “Strong Rail”.
“More rail in Germany and Europe and thus more climate protection: This is and remains our goal. As an integrated provider and partner of the industry, industry and politics, DB also stands for this at InnoTrans. With innovative approaches and digital technologies in infrastructure and with noticeable improvements for our customers in trains, connections and integrated public transport offers, we are taking responsibility for a strong rail network,” says Richard Lutz, CEO of Deutsche Bahn AG:.
As part of InnoTrans, DB is announcing, among other things, extensive investments in its fleet of construction machinery. This will increase its capacity for maintenance and repair of the infrastructure.
The expansion of the machine pool is necessary in order to be able to handle the enormous volume of construction and maintenance in the German rail network and to react quickly and flexibly in the event of disruptions.
In the future, new long-range drones will be used to support various tasks from the air. They will be presented to the public for the first time at InnoTrans.
DB at InnoTrans: The S-Bahn of the future
In regional transport, DB is presenting the metropolitan S-Bahn of the future. The S-Bahn 2029+ sets a uniform standard for the next generation of S-Bahns throughout Germany. The modular principle means that the vehicle can be adapted quickly and inexpensively to regional needs. DB is also driving forward the expansion of integrated mobility: in a new model region, new forms of mobility are to be intelligently networked with rail services. An agreement on the development of mobility services will be signed at InnoTrans.
For long-distance travelers, DB is announcing new direct connections in Germany and Europe at InnoTrans. This will make other interesting destinations accessible without having to change trains. This makes climate-friendly travel by train even more attractive. For DB, the new connections are further steps towards a more interconnected, sustainable and united Europe.
DB Cargo shows how effective and value-adding rail logistics can be achieved on the strong rail: in the fundamental transformation that the industry is currently experiencing, Europe’s largest freight railway is creating innovative solutions for its customers. As an example, DB Cargo, together with customers and partners, is presenting a freight train for the supply chains of “green steel”. For this purpose, innovative dual-power locomotives and freight wagons will roll directly from successful practical use to the Berlin exhibition center.
The 14th InnoTrans, the leading international trade fair for transport technology, will take place in Berlin from September 24 to 27, 2024. As a leading mobility and logistics company, DB will be represented at InnoTrans with an exhibition stand in the CityCube, Hall B, Stand 410. There it will present numerous innovations for an innovation and digitalization boost in rail transport in Germany and Europe, stable and reliable rail operations and an infrastructure that enables further growth on climate-friendly rail.
